East Lothian Current 🌊 6th September 2024
Paint & Sip, Midnight Bookshop Openings and Classical Music
September is really bringing that back to school/end of the summer holidays energy this week. It’s been cold, rainy and greyer-than-grey. Luckily, there are a whole host of bad weather-friendly events running over the next couple of weeks while we wait for that Indian Summer…
What’s On
🎶 To Listen: The Lammermuir Festival is taking place over the next ten days, bringing classical music to venues across East Lothian, including churches, theatres and even the Concorde hangar at the National Museum of Flight! You can see the whole programme here.
📚To Buy: If you’ve been counting down the days until Sally Rooney’s latest book is released, you’ll LOVE these two Night Owl events: a midnight opening (so you can collect your book the second it’s officially released) and a silent reading party the following day for the 9pm bedtime crowd.
🦀 To Help Out: Join the Great Global Nurdle Hunt. This global initiative to reduce the amount of plastic pellets that end up on our beaches will come to North Berwick on Saturday September 7th. Find out more about nurdles and how best to hunt them here.
🪴 To Potter: East Linton annual art exhibition will run all weekend, showcasing works from local artists. Entry fee is £1, and if you want to buy anything you’ll need cash.
🧑🏽🎨 To Paint: There are still some tickets left for Paint and Sip at Dukes of West Barns on Saturday 21st September. They’re going fast though!
