It’s a bit of a bumper edition this week - partly because I took two weeks off from this newsletter to go on holiday, but also because there’s just so much good stuff happening in East Lothian right now.
As always, please get in touch with any news, events, opportunities - or anything else - that you‘d like to promote. It’s always great to hear from you ✏️
What’s On
🌅 To Move: Beach Yoga is back! Get the sand between your toes and the sun on your face as you round off the weekend with some early morning beach yoga. The Yoga Den is running £10 classes at Belhaven Bay every Sunday at 9:30am until the end of August (weather permitting)
🎶 To Listen: Lake Montgomery will be playing live at Smeaton Nursery Gardens on the 25th. This sounds like an absolutely dreamy Thursday night - I hope Smeaton put on more live music events soon. Book your tickets here to make sure it’s a sellout.
🍿 To Watch: Catch All of Us Strangers at North Berwick Community Centre Movie Night this Friday. You can watch the trailer here, and book your tickets here. Snacks available from all good supermarkets.
🎟️ To Book: Ash and Idlewild have been announced as co-headliners for Fringe By the Sea on Saturday 10th August. The rest of the programme is excellent too - take a look if you haven’t already.
🔧 To Do: Fixing for a Future are on the hunt for volunteers to help run the busy East Linton Tool Library - get in touch if you have 4 hours a month to give for an excellent community initiative.
🌊 To Explore: One for Disability Pride Month - did you know that specially adapted beach wheelchairs are available to borrow for free at North Berwick (and Portobello) beach? This handy instagram guide tells you all you need to know.
Talk of the Town
🚂 A reminder that Scotrail are operating on a reduced timetable at the moment - double check your train times here and look out for cancelled services on the North Berwick line in particular.
🏝️ Gullane Bents was crowned regional winner in The Times Best UK Beaches Guide. Apparently in fine weather the blue waves and golden sands could be mistaken for the Aegean… *checks BBC weather app again, just in case*
