East Lothian Current: 🌊 7th August 2024
Fringe by the Sea, Open Water Swimming and Silent Discos...
Overheard at Fringe by the Sea earlier this week: “This would make the perfect setting for an episode of Midsomer Murders!” Make of that what you will…
Meanwhile, there’s a lot going on beyond the big top tents of FBTS - as always, get in touch if there’s anything you want to share.
What’s On
🌯 To Eat: Fringe by the Sea would be worth a lunchtime stop for the atmosphere alone - luckily, the food options are also excellent. Find yourself a sunny spot in front of the music stage, and take your pick from Bonnie Burrito, East Lothian Deli Box, The Big Blu Co, Planet G Food and more.
🌊 To Dunk: If you want the thrill of wild swimming but not sure how to take the first plunge, Open Water Swimming at Foxlake Adventures is running until the end of August - sessions are £5, wetsuit included.
🎶 To Dance: There’s a fun line up of live music at Hops in the Garden, which takes place at Archerfield on Saturday 17th August. There will also be a silent disco, food trucks and face painting - with funds raised going to Leuchie House respite centre.
🏔️ To Adventure: Another interesting fundraiser - Ocean Vertical are hosting Women in Adventure on Friday 16th August. Expect inspirational speakers, toasted marshmallows around the firepit and a raffle, with proceeds going to supporting and training female trekking guides in Nepal.
👩🏻🎨 To Share: The deadline to share your work at the East Linton Annual Art Exhibition is Sunday 18th August - find out how to apply here.
Talk of the Town
🎶 Exciting news for vinyl heads - a record shop is coming to East Linton! A Love Supreme Records will sell high quality second records and be based next door to Hometown Coffee. Get in touch if you have records to sell.
🏄🏽♀️ Outdoor clothing brand Saltrock have opened a branch in North Berwick. They also have 20% off almost everything online right now, if you’re still looking for your summer wardrobe.
